Works vs Live Cards
KyaraFlip keeps Works (project pages) and Live Cards (characters, audio packs, lore entries, etc.) separate so creators can explain the big picture while still showcasing each playable asset. Works describe the world; live cards are the pieces you can travel with, battle, or stream.
Quick comparison
| Item | Works | Live Cards |
|---|---|---|
| Role | Hub for the world/project. Title, summary, tags, and cover communicate context | Individual content pieces such as characters, voices, maps, or props |
| Visibility | Set per work (`public / unlisted / private`) | Inherits the work’s visibility; finer controls may arrive later |
| Surfaces | `/works/{id}` pages and the works list | Sections inside the work page plus live card detail views |
| Extensions | Boosts, support, and reviews are tied to the work | Future pricing/distribution features attach through the parent work |
When to create a Work
- Visit `/en/works/new` and register the title, summary, tags, and cover image.
- Describe the overall experience (gameplay loop, world lore, licensing notes) so newcomers know what to expect.
- Add optional external links for official sites, social profiles, or collaboration forms.
When to create a Live Card
- Add each character card, voice drama, reference PDF, or other standalone piece as its own live card.
- During creation or edit, use the Work selector to choose where it should appear.
- Need to move it? Open the live card settings again and pick a different work—no reupload required.
Linking Works and Live Cards
- Create the work first so it shows up in the live card dropdown.
- To attach existing live cards, open the live card detail page and use “Add to work” (or the equivalent action) to pick the destination work.
- Ordering controls for how live cards appear on the work page are planned so you can curate sections more easily.
Common patterns
- World bible: One work hosts glossary entries, maps, and reference cards as live cards.
- Event hub: Treat the event itself as a work, then attach merch drops, recordings, and recaps as live cards.
- Spin-off line: Launch a new work for derivative projects and cross-link it with the original so fans can hop between them.
Adding live cards to someone else’s work
- When you submit your live card to another creator’s work via “Add to work,” it enters a pending state until the work owner reviews it.
- Owners approve or reject those requests from their dashboard, so nothing appears on their work automatically.
- Rejections do not delete your live card—you can reapply elsewhere or keep it inside your own works.
FAQ
Q. Can I publish live cards without a work?
A. Yes, but they’re harder to discover. Create the work first and link live cards for better context.
Q. Does deleting a work remove its live cards?
A. No. The live cards stay in your library; only the link is removed so you can attach them elsewhere when you’re ready.
