Work Visibility & Unlisted Mode

Work Visibility & Unlisted Mode

Every work on KyaraFlip ships with a visibility state so you can control who can see it. This guide explains the difference between `Public`, `Unlisted`, and `Private`, plus how unlisted links behave.

Visibility states

  • Public – Appears in listings and search. Anyone can open the page.
  • Unlisted – Hidden from listings/search. Only people who know the work URL can view it, which makes it handy for early sharing or limited previews.
  • Private – Draft mode. Only the owner can view or edit it; everyone else sees a 404 even with the URL.
  • Review / Needs revision / Suspended – Operational states the team uses while moderating a work. Follow the on-page banner if you need to resubmit fixes.

How to share an unlisted work

  1. Open the create work page (or the edit page for an existing work) and switch the status to Unlisted.
  2. Save the work. The page URL (`/en/works/{id}`) now acts as the unlisted link.
  3. Anyone with that URL can read the work even without signing in, but it still stays out of discovery surfaces.
  4. Switch back to Public once you are ready for discoverability, or choose Private if you want to hide it from everyone except yourself.

FAQ

Does “unlisted” mean the link is secure?
The link contains a UUID so it’s hard to guess, yet anyone who receives it can share it further. Treat it like any other secret link.

Can I request a review while staying unlisted?
Yes. When you move the state to `under_review`, the work stops being publicly visible until the team finishes checking it. After that you can choose `Public` or keep it `Unlisted`.
